Instructional Design Consulting Services

 

At CStarsky Lifelong Learning LLC our goal is to ensure our clients have the most efficient and effective learning solutions possible. We recognize that every client is unique and we focus on meeting your specific needs. Our focus on lifelong learning helps to make the transition through the ages as individuals develop and learn. Vygotsky's concept of the Zone of Proximal Development is often understood to refer to the way in which the acquisition of new knowledge is dependent on previous learning and the availability of instruction. At CStarsky Lifelong Learning we ensure a strong foundation of knowledge exists through the needs analysis. If necessary, we build the foundation of knowledge through learning events and then build on that foundation by providing additional instructional opportunities to increase job performance and personal enrichment. Whether you need a simple workshop, job aids, manuals, or a large scale curriculum, we can help.

 

Our goal is to provide continuous learning opportunities for all ages. Whether you are designing programs for children, adults in the workforce, or seniors enjoying retirement, we can help. To do that we follow the ADDIE model of instructional design:

 

  • Analysis: At CStarsky we start by analyzing the needs of the learners. This analysis includes determining whether a learning event is required or something else in the environment is necessary to meet the needs. We work with key stakeholders to determine the right solution. We also analyze the characteristics of the target audience to determine the right method to deliver the learning experience.

  • Design: We design learning solutions to meet those needs. This step requires outlining the topcs to be trained and sequencing them in an appropriate manner. As appropriate, we design delivery methods and the look and feel of all materials.

  • Development: Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) CStarsky develops the material to be included in the learning solution.

  • Implementation: At CStarsky we work with clients to implement learning solutions whether the method of implementation is on the job training, classroom instruction, or via the use of technology.

  • Evaluation: The key to evaluation is to ensure appropriate learning objectives have been identified. If appropriate conditions, actions, and standards are defined outcome measures can be created to measure accomplishment of those objectives. CStarsky Lifelong Learning uses numerous approaches to evaluating training and leadership development programs including: the Kirkpatrick Four Levels, the Phillips ROI Methodology, and the Return on Learning Experience (ROLE) Model.

 

The ADDIE model is followed regardless of the methodology used to deliver the learning event. We coordinate with our clients to determine the level of formality required in each phase and customize the approach to the client needs.
